New Treatment For Heart Failure

Scientists from London’s King’s College have harnessed the natural regenerative capacity of a group of stem cells that reside in the heart. The study found that these cells repair and regenerate muscle tissue damaged by a heart attack, which typically goes on to lead to heart failure. Published in the journal Cells on August 15th, the study went on to show that if these stem cells are eliminated, the heart is actually unable to repair after an attack.
